Owner-led, self-funded, and aligned entirely with long-term results.
An independent quantitative investment firm.
Praevia is owner-operated and self-funded. That matters because it means there is no pressure to chase short-term performance, take on unsuitable capital, or compromise the process for anyone.
We invest our own capital according to our own process. The infrastructure that runs it — execution systems, data pipelines, research tooling, monitoring — is all built in-house. We did not buy a platform and plug strategies in. We built from the ground up because the quality of the foundation shapes everything built on top of it.
The goal is a firm that is still operating cleanly in ten years. That requires making the right call when the convenient one is available. So far, that discipline has held.
Decisions driven by process. Results measured against defined criteria, not intuition.
Scope added deliberately. Complexity is a cost, not a signal of sophistication.
Built to last.
Firms that grow too fast usually build on shaky foundations. When things are going well, nobody notices the technical debt or the process shortcuts. When they stop going well, everything surfaces at once.
We are not in a hurry. The operating standard is defined before we need it. The process is documented before it matters. The infrastructure is built before the volume arrives. That sequencing is intentional.
Build a firm of real substance and let the standard speak for itself.
